“We have a Constitution rich in human rights, but the actual exercise is not yet close to the community, the common citizen.” It was one of the arguments wielded by Diane Rodriguez, president of the Association Silueta X, trans women, during the presentation of the campaign Equal Time.
Diffusion is two-minute videos that recreate the abuses that trans people, lesbians and gays have received. Rodriguez explained, some are based complaints that his organization has received.
Rodriguez explained that the couple, the goal is to design and develop oversight committees “structural changes in the country.” The main issues are education, health and employment.
In the video clips denouncing the existence of clandestine clinics that offer “healing” homosexuality of a person under torture.
On the other hand, silueta X Association also seeks to expand access to medical services. One is the treatment of hormones, so that for example in the body of a woman can decrease trans female hormones and increase the male. Other health issues of interest to this group are prevention, access to treatment and education on Acquired Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and subsequent disease.
