Sr. Fernando es nacido y criado en Venezuela, pero se mudó a Ecuador a vivir con su novia, y ahora se cree que son la primera pareja transgénero en el país para tener un bebé.
Ms Rodríguez, quien fue asignado masculino al nacer, fue noticia en su país natal en 2013, cuando se convirtió en el candidato que él primero transgénero postularse para el Congreso.

La pareja anunció su embarazo en línea, después de haber concebido naturalmente aún ninguno de los dos tiene que pasar por el quirófano parte inferior del cuerpo, con el Sr. Machado ahora embarazada de cuatro meses.
Ms Rodríguez dijo a la prensa mexicana: «Este era el deseo de los dos y no había nada biológico o legal para detenernos, así que decidimos hacerlo ‘
«Vivimos como marido y mujer. Soy una mujer transfeminine y Fernando es un hombre transmasculine. El proceso para llegar aquí era complejo para cada uno de nosotros.
«Sabiendo que es nuestro derecho, hemos decidido añadir otro miembro de nuestra familia. ‘

Ella ha hablado previamente de cómo ella luchó a raíz de la salida de su familia, que le rehuía y la obligó a vivir en las calles.
Sr. Machado, femenino asignado al nacer, dice que su transición ha sido totalmente apoyado por su familia.

Ms Rodriguez, who was assigned male at birth, made headlines in her native country in 2013, when she became the he first transgender candidate to run for Congress.

The couple announced their pregnancy online, having conceived naturally as either of them have yet to undergo lower-body surgery, with Mr Machado now four months pregnant.
Ms Rodriguez told Mexican media: ‘This was the wish of both of us and there was nothing biological or legal to stop us, so we decided to do it’
‘We live as man and woman. I’m a transfeminine woman and Fernando is a transmasculine man. The process to get here was complex for each of us.
‘Knowing it’s our right, we decided to add another member to our family.

She has previously spoken of how she struggled in the wake of coming out to her family, who shunned her and forced her to live on the streets. Mr Machado, assigned female at birth, says his transition has been fully supported by his family.
